Torres de Castilla residential facade
The Torres de Castilla residential façade is particularly unique as it has been made possible by the use of the semi-industrialised R70ST system.
The new one Torres de Castilla residential complex It is made up of several blocks of different heights, some of which are joined together on the lower floors. This arrangement creates a fragmented complex that allows for greater views and different orientations for the dwellings that are built there.
The strategy chosen for the formalization of the envelope is based on a image of diffuse materiality and changing through the incidence of sunlight. The modulation proposed for the façade is apparently random, however, there is a flexible order and at the same time compatible with the correct functioning of a stick type curtain wall system, whose requirementsTechnical ents usually lead to results with a more regular image.
The curtain wall is not a common solution for residential buildings, however Riventi has carried out several examples of this type of intervention with excellent results. This building typology is characterized by having elements with increasingly demanding requirements, which leads to the need to introduce improvements in the systems, such as the roller shutter boxes, which are tested using standardised tests to ensure these requirements.
The structural and technical advantages of R70ST system make possible the creation of a volume game with avant-garde materiality that represents a new approach to housing enclosures. For the cladding of this building, a patterned glass which forms a series of boxes, anchored to the structural grid of the curtain wall, by means of aluminium frames. In the last phase of the project, the glass boxes have been replaced by a composite sheet finish. The use of structural silicone The integration of carpentry and blinds as a darkening system is one of the most important details of this solution.
