Remodeling of the El Plantío stadium in Burgos. Facade carried out mainly with a modular system of curved panels in the workshop.
In September 1964 the stadium was inaugurated The Plantation, and after more than half a century of history, a Remodeling that improves and adapts the stadium to the new technical, construction and habitability requirements that facilities of these characteristics require.
Among the main new features introduced so far is the construction of a new grandstand side that joins those of both ends closing the corners. The project, of Israel Alba and EIC, proposed a skin of large curved plates which provide strength to the powerful prismatic volume that the sports complex will become. The work has been carried out in a record time thanks to the acquisition of specific machinery for the bending of metal sheets and the rapid installation of the curved plates with modular system. The curved elements mounted on frames are pre-assembled in the workshop so that the pieces are placed on site with a few Simple adjustment and calibration processes, using the anchoring piece designed for this purpose.
In addition, the glass and metal panels have been made. composite panel which close the ground floor, the building entrance and some areas of the first floor, as well as the canopy that houses the lockers and serves as a transition between the ground floor as a plinth and the upper part of curved pieces. Therefore, a comprehensive solution has been provided for the entire building envelope.
