Romo Culture House Facade / Romo Kultur Etxea
Facade of the Romo Cultural House. This building was the result of a process that began with the call for the Public Competition for the drafting of the Construction Project and Construction Management of the new Culture Classroom in Plaza Santa Eugenia in Getxo (Bizkaia). The proposal was based on the Punta Galea cliffs from the Biscayan town that were recreated using a glass façade and an exterior envelope made of perforated sheet metal.
For this project the chosen system was the R50SG developed by Riventi to create plans for continuous glass supported by a minimum dimension profilesThe facade is composed of a double skin, one of glass towards the interior and one volumetric skin towards the outside developed by more than 300 pieces of different dimensions of corten steel, which characterize the building in a unique way, in addition to contributing to a good energy behaviorIn this sense, the Romo Kultur Etxea has achieved the highest rating in energy efficiency, becoming one of the more efficient municipal buildings, which has undoubtedly been helped by the perforated steel plates on its facades, which allow for efficient ventilation and solar protection without preventing the building from receiving natural light.
