A double skin curtain wall manufactured in Riventi managed to achieve the category of Best Glass Facade 2014. (SAINT-GOBAIN CRISTALERIA/CITAV AWARDS) The inner skin was made with the patented system R70ST, with hidden profiles and 20 mm open seam. This system facilitates the integration of practicable elements through exterior projecting opening systems with a vertical axis that enables exterior ventilation towards the space delimited by both skins.
The combination of glazed areas of 2970 mm with other opaque areas of 1330 mm, solve the Ceiling and floor connections, fire sectorization, soundproofing between floors and the support for the spades, which support the outer skin. The opaque strip finish was made with aluminium composite, with a metallic grey PVDF finish.
It is important to point out the forecast in concreting phase the placement of both the three-dimensionally adjustable V-shaped rolled steel angle anchors, which hold the inner skin, and the spars that support the outer façade.
The curtain wall works by means of fixed anchoring at the top and floating at the bottom, following the usual design of curtain walls and allowing any movement and expansion. Riventi is certified by the company Dow Corning as a member of the Quality Bond, to carry out the gluing procedure in the workshop of the different façade elements to the independent frames. This silicone does not work with shear, so it is previously checked that the union without offsets on the anodized aluminum bar of the frame, is carried out with guaranteed adhesion and a layer thickness and pore sealing suitable for gluing the structural silicone.
What characterizes this building is its outer skin composed of 470 mm high slats separated by 30 mm, forming a 70 mm profile curtain wall with an exterior visible cover with hidden supports. A breathable facade which improves the comfort of the building as it reduces the incidence of light rays, significantly improving the solar factor performance of the entire façade, and prevents overheating thanks to the air that circulates between them.
Finally the facade maintenance This is ensured by the traméx-type steel grating walkways located between the two skins, which can be accessed through specific doors.
